Dental Staff

Dr. Chad J Barney DMD, a Lewiston dentist, grew up in Richland, WA and went to Dental School in Portland, Oregon.  He graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1993 with a DMD degree.  He practiced in Libby, Montana for a few years before moving to Lewiston Idaho and acquiring the practice of Roscoe Thoen, DDS in 1995. Dr. Chad J Barney is primarily engaged in the practice of preventative dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, periodontics as well as family dentistry.

You and your family are in good hands with Dr. Chad J Barney. He has more than two and a half decades of experience in dentistry, including 22 years as a dentist. His passion for providing comfortable wellness-focused dentistry has led him to provide a wide range of services, including dental cleanings, fluoride treatment, sealants, dental implants, composite fillings, inlays/onlays, crowns, bridges, teeth whitening, veneers, orthodontics, and periodontics. In addition, Dr. Chad J Barney is committed to keeping his practice up to date with the latest technologies to better serve you.

Dr. Chad J Barney is a member of the ADA and ISDA.  He volunteers at the Snake River Community Clinic to help ensure individuals in need have proper health care. Dr. Barney also coaches little league fast pitch softball.

Dr. Chad J Barney and his wife Karrie have three children, Taryn, Loryn and Jenna.  They all enjoy camping, fishing, and skiing in the winter.  Dr. Chad J Barney loves the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley and cannot imagine living anywhere else.

I completed the Dental Assisting program at LCSC and I have worked for Dr. Barney for 6 years.  I enjoy getting to know our patients.  I grew up here in the LC Valley and I am married with 2 children.  As a family, we like to take walks, bike ride and watching movies at home.  We also enjoy going to the beach and camping.

Years of Experience:  2 years

I grew up in Alaska, I am married with 2 boys.  I completed schooling through “Assist to Succeed Dental Assisting” in Anchorage, Alaska.  I moved to the LC Valley with my family as my husband was transferred here for his job with the Railroad.  I love it here!  I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, riding UTV’s, swimming and learning guitar.

I came to work with Dr. Barney the summer of 2017.  I work part-time and fill in when the other assistants are out.

Years of Experience:  25 years

I joined Dr. Barney’s office during the Summer of 2017 and am looking forward to familiarizing myself with all our patients.  I graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science followed with a year of law school at University of Idaho.  I, kind of, missed Pocatello and decided to return for a 2nd Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene 25 years ago.  I have been working as a full-time Dental Hygienist in the LC Valley ever since.

My wife and I are from Canada and have enjoyed the Valley for the easy winters, the plentiful salmon & steelhead experiences and for raising our daughter, Miranda, who is a Junior at Utah Valley University, studying Dental Hygiene!  She will graduate with her Bachelor of Science degree next spring.  She decided to bring variety to our family and married Daniel in May 2017. He is currently achieving his Bachelor degree in Computer Science.

Hockey, Football and current events keep me entertained as well as building houses for my family.  Although, some aspects of that are more enjoyable than others.  I like to do stock trading in the early hours and I prefer days when an icy cold coke is in my hands.  In the evenings, I enjoy working on my 1988 (the year I married my co-worker Hygienist) Alfa Romeo.

I have enjoyed learning Dentrix at Dr. Barney’s office and using the high-tech equipment.  It has been a great experience to work with this group of people and I look forward to many years ahead.

Years of Experience:  27 years

27 years ago, I graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene and for the past 21 years of that, I have worked with Dr. Barney – and stayed because I love this office – the patients – the updated technology and the people I get to work with.  My favorite part of being here for so many years is having watched our little 3 year old, 1st timers now graduating from college and working in the real world!  Another favorite aspect of being here is having digital technology – it was a great “shot in the arm” for me and kept my excitement for my career alive.  Dr. Barney is a perfectionist and he cares about his patients showing compassion while working with them.  He does excellent work, which makes me proud to be a part of his office.

Although work is a big part of my life, I do enjoy other pleasures such as hiking, skiing and walking (running) our German Shepherd on the levy.  Spanish is slowly coming along and I like to tinker on the piano too.  The Penguins are my hockey team and “the underdog” is my team during Football season.  If the Olympics are on, Team Canada gets my support!

Above all, I love my time with my family – building houses with my husband, talking daily with our daughter and loving to watch her grow with her husband, Daniel.

I joined Dr. Barney's office, June 2019 and completed my Dental Assisting program at LCSC. I grew up in Uniontown, WA and just recently moved to Clarkston. I've been married to my husband Harley for 7 years and we have 2 boys, Logan (8) and Dylan (2). As a family, we enjoy camping, riding 4-wheelers, going to silverwood, and just being outdoors. 

I started working for Dr. Barney after I completed the Dental Assisting program at LCSC in May of 2019. Dr. Barney and the staff are great to learn from! I was born and raised in the LC Valley. I like to spend my spare time boating, camping, and anything outdoors! Spending time with family and friends are also a couple of my favorite things to do.
